Nomination of Candidates for the National Statistics Award

It is an award organized annually by the INE to spotlight contributions and scientific work in the field of statistics.

Purpose of the National Statistics Award:

Recognize scientific contributions and efforts in the field of Statistics, demonstrated through the trajectory of a professional career or in a single exemplary work. Through this, stimulate research, development and application of statistical methodology among the scientists and academics in our country.

Award:

Certificate diploma and financial endowment of 30,000 euros.

Nomination of Candidates:

All institutions, organizations and public or private foundations with some type of relation to Statistics may nominate candidates for the National Statistics Award.

Deadline for Nominations:

Three months from the day following the publication of the call in the Official State Gazette.

How to nominate a candidate:

• Step 1: download the forms "Anexo I: Candidacy Proposal", "Anexo II: Knowledge and acceptance of the nomination process and the regulatory bases" and "Anexo III: Statement".
• Step 2: fill in and properly sign the forms.
• Step 3:
  • Go to “Presentation of candidatures".
  • Authentication in the Cl@ve system.
  • Fill in the required fields.
  • You must attach the forms from Step 1: originals (if they have been signed electronically) or scanned (if they have been signed by hand).
  • Other supporting documentation may also be attached to the application (not mandatory).

Requirements for Candidacy:

Candidates will be experts of Spanish nationality whose work and scientific contribution constitutes an eminent contribution to the progress of statistics, regardless of the country in which it was carried out.

Awarding:

The Award will be presented through a Resolution of the Presidency of the INE, following review of the proposal made by the Jury.
